Driver Faces 19 Charges After Striking Pedestrians, Parked Car: Police
A Severn man faces attempted murder charges after police said he drove into pedestrians and a parked car at a Hanover 7-Eleven store.

HANOVER, MD — A Severn man faces attempted murder and felony assault charges after police said he drove into three pedestrians and a parked car at a Hanover 7-Eleven store early Sunday. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening, Anne Arundel County Police said.
Adam Rey Wolford, 33, was charged with nine felonies and ten misdemeanors, according to online Maryland court records. The felony counts include three attempted-murder charges, plus first-degree assault.
According to a police news release, the confrontation began after a man was assaulted by Wolford in the parking lot of the Cancun Cantina, 7501 Old Telegraph Road in Hanover. With help from bystanders, the victim got away from the suspect, and the group moved to the front of the 7-Eleven at 1075 Dorsey Road in Hanover shortly before 2 a.m.

Witnesses and victims told police that Wolford got into a red Jeep Cherokee and began driving erratically and shouting at the group. He struck an occupied, parked vehicle on Old Telegraph Road and then accelerated into the 7-Eleven parking lot and hit three pedestrians, a police report said.
The suspect circled around the 7-Eleven parking lot and back onto Old Telegraph Road, where he crashed into the same occupied parked vehicle a second time, police said.

Wolford was soon located in his Jeep on Queenstown Road near Ayshire Court, where he was arrested. He is being held without bond, court records show.
The occupants of the parked vehicle did not report any injuries. The pedestrians who were struck were taken to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
