Ducklings Stuck In Storm Sewer Rescued By Officer, Firefighters
What started as an ordinary day for an officer and firefighters turned into a wildlife rescue mission in Anne Arundel County.
SEVERN, MD — A Maryland Department of Natural Resources officer and members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department at Station 23 responded to a call for help for a surprising victim, or 12.
A good Samaritan reported seeing a mother duck panicking near a storm drain in the 8000 block of Ritchie Highway. Maryland Department of Natural Resources Officer Miller and firefighters responded, climbed down inside and fetched a dozen ducklings from the storm drain. They were kept contained in a bucket while officials pulled them out one by one. Reports indicate that they were unharmed.
