Five Top-Performing Wildcats

The Arundel High Wildcats football season has ended. In today's Tip List, we offer five top performers from a great year.

Nick Rosati – Keep in mind that the senior quarterback missed two games with mononucleosis, and sat out stretches of the second half some games after Arundel had a big lead. He still completed 181 of 287 passes and threw for 2,390 yards and 34 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Joe Blackwell – Perhaps the most underappreciated member of the Wildcats offense, he ran for 1,110 yards on 169 attempts during the season, while scoring 13 touchdowns. He averaged more than 92 yards per game on the ground while operating in a pass-oriented offense.

Tyler Washington – The tall wideout was a favorite target of Rosati's and put up big numbers, catching 66 balls for 1,129 yards.  Those 21 touchdown catches were pretty helpful to Arundel, as well. And did we mention he did a good job as the Wildcats punter?

Tommy Chepurko – The defensive tackle led Arundel with 81 tackles, including eight for a loss, while also forcing one fumble. No player was more consistently solid on the defensive end.

Michael Coombs – Arguably the best overall athlete on the team, Coombs was a disruptive force both on defense and special teams. "Boomer" had seven blocked kicks, as teams were unable to handle his reaction and speed off the line. He had 33 tackles, two interceptions and also returned 10 punts for 97 yards, including one for a touchdown.
