'Great Location': New Salon Drops The Anchor In Severna Park
The owner of Haven & Hue Hair Co. exclusively spoke with Patch on why she picked Severna Park for her new salon.

ODENTON-SEVERN, MD — McKenzie Redmond is no stranger to the hair industry, having spent 15 years learning the ins and outs of the business. Now, she's taking the reins by opening a shop in Severna Park.
Redmond spoke to Patch in the lead-up to the Friday grand opening of Haven & Hue Hair Co.
"From the moment I was in hair school, I've always envisioned myself having a salon, making people feel good," she told Patch. "This really came to life about the last few years, and then I've been looking for two years, and this location fell right into my lap."

"I'm just super excited to finally have my own salon and provide a safe space for clients and stylists to do great work," she added.
Redmond signed up for a five-year lease at her space in the Severna Park One shopping center.

"I am here to stay in Anne Arundel County with my business," she said, stressing that the Severna Park area is "a great location."
Redmond is originally from Harford County and built her clientele in Anne Arundel County. She lived in Pasadena with her husband for nearly 10 years before eventually moving back to Harford Co.
But the move hasn't shifted her dedication to the county.
"A lot of people commute, and I have no plans of going anywhere. I will stay right in Severna Park, because I love this community," she said. "It really does feel like a small-town feel, and all my clients are so supportive."
"I have no plans on going anywhere," she said.
The grand opening festivities on Friday kick off at 9 a.m., when — for a few hours — the shop will host a special blowout promotion for customers.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony that will include the Severna Park Chamber of Commerce is set for 5 p.m.
Looking to the future, Redmond said she wants to give back to the community that's helped her build up the business.
"I would love to do quarterly events with the community, whether it be a spring event, summer event, and just get the community to rally together," she said.
"I really look forward to trying to come up with a really nice giveback event around the holidays to bless families that are in need, or organizations to team up with."
The salon is located at 844 Ritchie Highway, and can be reached by email or by phone at (410) 975-5346.
Doors are open Monday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Clients can visit the shop on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Salon hours for the first Saturday of every month run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All other Saturdays are by appointment only.
