Live! Casino & Hotel Donates $19.6M To Anne Arundel Agencies
Anne Arundel County agencies received millions of dollars in grants Thursday from Live! Casino & Hotel officials.

HANOVER, MD — Nearly $20 million in grants were given to Anne Arundel County organization, including the police and fire departments and county schools, Thursday by the Cordish Companies’ Live! Casino & Hotel and the Anne Arundel County Local Development Council. The $19.6 million in grants mark the largest amount ever awarded by the development council since Live! Casino opened in June 2012, according to a news release, and brings the total money in support of Anne Arundel County organizations to more than $100 million.
Joe Weinberg, managing partner of The Cordish Companies, joined Anne Arundel County Executive Steven Schuh, State Senator James “Ed” DeGrange, Delegate Pam Beidle, and members of the Local Development Council in presenting the grants to recipients ranging across county operational and capital programs, education, health and human services and community associations. The allocations were recommended by the council, which helps to manage the distribution of the county’s gaming tax revenue to local organizations.
“Live! Casino & Hotel continues to give significant, record breaking funds to county organizations for effective community improvement across diverse sectors,” said Weinberg in a news release. “We are invested in helping the community grow and strengthen its public service, education, housing, health and overall standard of living.”
