Maryland Man Caught Dozens Of Illegal Fish In Ocean City: Police
A Jessup man faces a $2,000 fine after he was accused of catching too many illegal fish in Ocean City, police said.
OCEAN CITY, MD — The Maryland Natural Resources Police reported catching a man in Ocean City with an illegal haul of fish. Officers said they found 70 undersized tautogs in a Jessup man's vehicle on Nov. 10.
Tautogs, also known as blackfish, must be longer than 16 inches to catch. Police noted that all 70 of the man's blackfish were shorter than that minimum. Additionally, fishers may not catch more than four tautogs.
Officers charged Kenny Lu, 43, with possessing undersized blackfish and catching too many tautogs. Lu faces a $2,000 fine. His trial is scheduled for March 12, 2021 in Worcester County.
