2 Students Found With BB Guns After Meade High Went On Lockdown: Officials
Meade High School went on lockdown on Thursday. Officials said they charged two students who were found with BB guns.

FORT MEADE, MD — Meade Senior High School was locked down for an hour and 45 minutes on Thursday.
Officials announced that they found two students with BB guns in the school. Both students and weapons are in custody, authorities said.
Police said they charged a 15-year-old from Odenton and a 16-year-old from Hanover. Officers did not identify the suspects by name. This is normal protocol for investigations involving minors.

All students stayed safe in their classrooms during the lockdown, which started at 11:10 a.m. and ended at 12:55 p.m.
The initial report was for a single student with a gun. The school eventually learned that it was a BB gun and found a second student with another BB gun.

Anne Arundel County Public Schools shared the same information on its Facebook page.
School resource officers said they heard about a video that showed a student with a BB gun in a Meade High bathroom.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department said it discovered the second BB gun while it interviewed the other students in the video.
Classes resumed after the lockdown, and school was dismissed at its normal time. Police officers stayed on campus for the rest of the day as a precaution.
