Millersville Man Killed In Car Crash: Police Report

MILLERSVILLE, MD — A Millersville man was killed in a single vehicle crash June 9 when his vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree. The incident occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. along Generals Highway south of Courtland Manor Road. Keith Thomas Wetzel , 75, of Millersville, was the driver of the 2014 Hyundai Elantra headed southbound on the highway.

According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, Wetzel's vehicle traveled 75 feet farther after striking the tree, prompting the fire department to have to extricate him. Wetzel was pronounced dead at the scene. A preliminary investigation indicates Wetzel experienced a medical event causing the crash. The traffic safety section is handling the investigation.
