New Goodwill Store To Open In Odenton In June

ODENTON, MD — A new Goodwill store will open in the Odenton Shopping Center, next to Rinconcito Mexicano, on June 1. This will be Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, INC.'s 31st retail location, and the seventh store in Anne Arundel County. The space at 1103 Annapolis Rd. will be used as a retail store and donation center. The sales floor space will be about 12,000 feet, and about 17 people will work at the location, Goodwill representative Jonathan Balog told Patch. Residents can donate unwanted clothing and household items at this location.

By donating and shopping at Goodwill, consumers help fund job training and placement programs for those with disabilities or other disadvantaging conditions. Last year, Goodwill placed over 3,000 individuals into jobs.

"Our retail stores fund our job training and placement programs, and this is all made possible through the support of the community," President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake, INC. Lisa Rusyniak said in a statement. "We're very excited to open a new location in Anne Arundel County and appreciate our many loyal shoppers and donors."

To celebrate the grand opening, the new Goodwill store will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony and a raffle at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 1. During the Grand Opening Weekend from Thursday to Sunday, customers can enter to win a flatscreen television, Kindle Fire or Goodwill Gift Card.

Store hours will be: Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
