An Odenton man died early Sunday when his Acura SUV slammed into a concrete bridge support in the Hanover area, police say.

ODENTON, MD — An Odenton man died Sunday morning when the SUV he was driving slammed into a concrete bridge abutment, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
The one-vehicle accident was reported just after 3 a.m. on MD-100 one mile east of Arundel Mills Circle (MD-713) in Hanover. Investigators say the 2010 Acura ZDX driven by Jose Antonio Rivera, 24, of Bunker Hill Lane, was seen driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of MD-100. A witness tells police the SUV then veered into the median and struck the bridge support.
Police say Rivera, who was wearing a seatbelt, was declared dead at the scene by fire department personnel. His body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s office in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
