Odenton Wife Killed Husband Then Herself: Police

Anne Arundel County Police say an Odenton woman killed her husband and then herself last month.

ODENTON, MD — The suspicious deaths of an Odenton husband and wife on Feb. 25 have been ruled a murder-suicide, Anne Arundel County Police said Tuesday. The bodies of Charles James Edward Jackson, 55, and his wife, Veronique Crystal Jackson, 47, both from the 2000 block of Brigadier Boulevard, were found dead, apparently from gunshot wounds, inside their home.

Over the last several weeks the Anne Arundel County Crime Lab and Evidence Collection Unit analyzed several items recovered from the residence. The physical evidence recovered from the scene led investigators to believe that Veronique Jackson shot and killed Charles Jackson before fatally shooting herself.

The bodies were discovered after someone who lived in the house called 911. Police said at the time of the shootings that there was no threat to the public, but called the shootings suspicious. The caller told police two people had been shot; fire department personnel pronounced both victims dead.

Detectives interviewed several witnesses, and police say several family members have cooperated with the investigation. The bodies were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy was done to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

Police spokesman Lt. Ryan Frashure said neighbors didn't report seeing or hearing anything. Officers have never been called to the home for any type domestic violence or other calls, he told WTOP.
