Gun At Crofton High School: Police Accuse Parent Of Bringing Weapon To Campus
Police accused a parent of bringing a gun to Crofton High School. Officers issued a criminal summons for the accused Gambrills father.

CROFTON, MD — Police accused a father of bringing a gun onto the campus of Crofton High School. Authorities announced Tuesday that the school resource officer applied for charges against the parent, leading officials to issue a criminal summons. A press release identified the suspect as 45-year-old Nakia Peete of Gambrills.
A student reported that they got into an altercation with an unrelated parent in the school parking lot on Dec. 6. Administrators watched the security video of the confrontation and saw the suspect remove a black box from the trunk and place it in the passenger side of the vehicle, the release said. School leaders thought it was a pistol case, but the accused man never took a gun out of the box or threatened anybody.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department said it investigated and found that a Glock 17 handgun was in the box while it was on school property. Peete denied this accusation in an interview with WMAR journalist Dave Detling. The suspect confirmed that he is a licensed gun owner, but Peete said he didn't have any firearms on him during the argument.

"Nothing was in the case; however it was a gun case," Peete told WMAR. "I will admit that."
