Police Link Burglary, Fight and Odenton Man's Fatal Stabbing

A 16-year-old reportedly had party at Odenton house, which was burglarized later. Police say he fought with burglars; Crofton man arrested.

A man found dead in Odenton early Friday was stabbed to death and fought with a 16-year-old boy whose nearby house was burglarized after a party, according to police.

Anne Arundel County Police received a call just before 4 a.m. Friday about a man laying in the roadway near Winer Road and Bruce Avenue. The deceased has been identified as Jesse Gage Brousseau, 19, of the 600 block of Chapel View Road in Odenton, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. Brousseau’s cause of death was stab wounds and deemed a homicide.

While homicide detectives were on the scene where Brousseau’s body was found, officers were called to a house in the 700 block of Sunny Chapel Road for a burglary report. The house is close to the site where Brousseau’s body was found.

Investigators said a 16-year-old boy was home alone on Thursday night and had a party that evening with a number of guests. The party ended at about 1 a.m.; just after 3 a.m., the home on Sunny Chapel Road was apparently burglarized.

During the burglary, officers were told a fight occurred between the 16-year-old boy and the burglars. This occurred outside of the home.

Through evidence from the homicide scene and the burglary, detectives say they linked the incidents. The 16-year-old was interviewed at a police station; police have not said whether charges were filed.

A second person injured in the incident was identified as Allen Johnson, 19, from the 2400 block of Vineyard Lane in Crofton. Witnesses identified Johnson as a suspect who burglarized the home in the 700 block of Sunny Chapel Road where the fight occurred.

Police charged Johnson with first-degree burglary, theft, and assault.

A 17-year-old girl was also on scene, but was not injured. She has not been charged at this time, police say.

At this time detectives have identified all parties involved in this incident however the investigation is on-going. Detectives are working with the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s office to review the facts of this case.
