PUBLIC MEETING - New Rubble Landfill Approved in Crofton/Odenton/Gambrills
Learn more about the recently permitted rubble landfill and what citizens can do to oppose the opening.

On November 24, 2014, the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) issued a permit for the construction and operation of a private rubble landfill to be located at the end of Capital Raceway Road in Crofton. The facility is to be designed to dispose of rubble (construction and demolition) waste. The landfill will consist of a 72-acre fill area on a 184-acre site and will be constructed adjacent to the closed Cunningham Rubble Landfill. The site is bounded to the northeast by Four Season’s Community Estate, to the west by the Little Patuxent River, to the southeast by Capitol Raceway Park and Evergreen Road, and to the north by the closed Cunningham Rubble Landfill.
MDE’s Notice of Final Determination, Response to Comments and other supporting documents will be available for public review at the Odenton Regional Library located at 1325 Annapolis Road in Odenton and on the MDE website at:
