Severn Murder Victim Freed from Prison Hours Before Death
Patrick Dixon planned to attend a release party Friday night after he was released early from prison. Police say Daquon Pack shot him.

SEVERN, MD — The victim in last week’s Severn homicide had just arrived home from prison and was planning to celebrate his release on the night he was gunned down, according to reports.
Meanwhile, Anne Arundel County Police continue to search for the accused shooter, Daquon Darryl Pack, 22, from the 7000 block of O'Daniel Court in Glen Burnie.

Pack is wanted for the April 1 fatal shooting of an acquaintance, Patrick Maurice Dixon, 31, of Glen Burnie. Dixon was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Pack reportedly had an issue in a Meade Village parking lot and shortly thereafter shot Dixon.

The victim’s father, Miles Dixon, told The Capital-Gazette he loaned his son his truck so Patrick could check in with his parole officer. After the men talked, Patrick picked out an outfit to wear later at a homecoming party his sister was going to have for him that night.
Patrick left in the truck, but was shot and killed before he could make it home.
"I thought it was an April Fools' joke," his father said of the murder. "He wasn't even home eight hours and he was gone."
Pack is wanted on multiple charges, including murder. While police have asked the public for tips to his whereabouts, they urge people not to approach Pack, whom authorities describe as armed and dangerous.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Pack, charging him with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, handgun on a person and reckless endangerment.
Police say the shooting appears to be a targeted attack and not a random act of violence.
Anyone with information on Pack's whereabouts is asked to call 911.
Anne Arundel County Police ask anyone with information in the case to call the Anne Arundel County Homicide Unit at 410-222-4731.
