Severn Shooting Hospitalizes Male, Officers Arrest 1: Police

SEVERN, MD — Police said a Severn shooting injured a male on Sunday. Officers expect him to survive. Authorities noted that they arrested one person on the scene.

The shooting happened around 3:45 a.m. near Pioneer Drive and Richfield Drive, an incident report added. Witnesses told officials they saw three males running from the area, the write-up continued.

Police wrote that they found two of those people. Officers explained that one of them was the victim, and the other had a loaded Taurus 9-mm handgun. These two seem to know each other, authorities informed.

Medics took the victim to an unnamed hospital for treatment of his lower torso wound, the press release detailed. Officials mentioned that they arrested his armed acquaintance, 19-year-old Darnell James Hall of Severn.

Authorities indicated that Hall did not fire the shots, however. The bullets came from an unknown vehicle, the report clarified. Investigators shared that they found many shell casings in the roadway.
