Speeding Pasadena Motorcyclist Dies In Harmons Crash: Police
A Pasadena motorcyclist died when his speeding bike struck a pick-up truck in the Harmons area, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

HARMONS, MD — A Pasadena motorcyclist died early Sunday when his speeding bike struck a pick-up truck in the Harmons area, according to Anne Arundel County Police. The fatal crash happened about 12:15 a.m. on MD 100 eastbound and Harmans Road in Harmans.
A 2007 Yamaha driven by Paul Waynne Jones, 32, of the 300 block of Caldwell Road in Pasadena, was eastbound on MD 100 at a high rate of speed, according to witnesses. Police say Jones' motorcycle was seen making several lane changes in traffic, and moved into the right lane behind a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when it struck the left rear of the vehicle.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene by fire department personnel. His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.

The driver of the Chevrolet — Matthew Alexander Lyda, 29, of the 100 block of Taks Lane in Severna Park —was not injured.

The preliminary cause of the crash is the Yamaha’s loss of control due to excessive speed, police say.
The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and any charges are pending review by the State’s Attorney.
