Suspected Charged in Stabbing After Argument at Popeyes

Anne Arundel County Police say an assailant followed a man home and stabbed him after they argued in a Laurel parking lot.

A Laurel man is in jail on assault charges for allegedly stabbing a man after an argument sparked by a near-collision in the parking lot of the Laurel Popeyes, say Anne Arundel County Police.

Officers were called about 2:52 p.m. Nov. 20 to the 3100 block of Lunar Court in Laurel for a report of a stabbing. The 37-year-old male victim from Laurel told police he argued with the suspect at the Popeyes restaurant in the 3300 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road.

The victim didn’t realize the attacker followed him home, until he was confronted in his driveway. Police say Reginald Terri Dabney, 47, 3400 block of Bitterwood Place in Laurelvused a small knife to stab the victim twice in the upper arm and once in the lower portion of his body.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries; he was treated and released from Laurel Regional Hospital.

Dabney fled the area in a Nissan Maxima toward Russett Green East. Officers were unable to locate the suspect, but his image was captured by a security camera, which police shared with the public.

Police say several calls from the public identified Dabney as the assailant. He was arrested Saturday at his house. He is charged with first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and use of a deadly weapon with intent to injure.
