It's not every day that you see a state legislature pass a bill allowing marriage rights for same-sex couples.

– Police said two men in separate cars got into an argument while heading northbound on Maryland Route 3. Then a bunch of people ended up hospitalized and two people ended up arrested. The sequence, according to police went as follows: Person A and Person B were in separate cars heading north on Route 3. They got into some kind of argument. Person A stabbed Person B. Person B got back into his car, then pushed Person A off the road. Both men and several passengers ended up in the hospital.
– Anyone who attended Tuesday’s meeting of the Piney Orchard Community Association board saw a vote to remove the vice president from his position. Julian Bethune-Brown will remain on the board for now, but won’t be second-in-command. The board shot down a measure to remove the president as well.

– If you live in District 1, you still don’t have a council member. After a marathon of votes with no resolution, the council decided to push the matter of filling the open seat to the March 5 meeting.
– The operators of the Maryland Live! project at Arundel Mills announced parts of the restaurant lineup inside the casino. There will be a steak house called The Prime Rib, along with previously announced Cheesecake Factory, Phillips Seafood and Bobby’s Burger Place.
– The Maryland Senate passed a bill to legalize gay marriage, following a similar vote by the House. The bill will go to Gov. Martin O’Malley for his signature. Stories about the gay marriage issue in the legislature generated dozens of comments.
