5-Building Apartment Fire Ruled Accidental In Windsor Mill

After dozens were displaced by an apartment fire, Baltimore County fire investigators ruled the blaze accidental.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A chimney malfunction caused the fire that displaced dozens of families Tuesday in Windsor Mill. Investigators ruled the fire accidental.

The fire broke out at an apartment building on Springridge Court around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday and was declared under control in less than two hours, officials said.

Crews found fire on the second and third floors, which spread through the attic to a total of five attached apartment buildings, according to authorities.
Nobody was injured, and everyone got out safely, officials said.

About 50 tenants were displaced by the three-alarm blaze, according to the Red Cross, which was assisted those whose apartments were deemed uninhabitable.
