Officer Shot Off-Duty At Home In Baltimore County: Police
The city officer was at his home in Baltimore County at the time of the shooting, police said.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Police said an off-duty Baltimore City officer was shot through his front door Wednesday night in Baltimore County. He was taken to a local hospital, where he is expected to survive.
Officials say they do not believe the officer is connected to any criminal activity, and detectives are investigating whether he was targeted.
The 50-year-old man was answering a knock at his front door in Gwynn Oak when — before he could open it — he was shot through the door, police said. The shooting occurred at 11:22 p.m. at an address that authorities did not want to disclose due to safety concerns.

The officer is a veteran in the southern district of the Baltimore Police Department, according to WBAL, which reported he knew the suspect.
The investigation is ongoing.
