The Harbour School Donates $25,000 to Meals on Wheels

The Harbour School won Lead2Feed for the second time and donates $25,000 to Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland

Special Needs students from The Harbour School at Baltimore participated in Lead2Feed, a nationwide service learning leadership program designed to fight hunger world wide. The students collaborated with other schools to donate over 200 pounds of food to The Maryland Food Bank, designed a board game (the pieces were made on their 3D printer) based on hunger and nutrition to send to schools world wide, made action packs to send to other schools so they could find ways to fight hunger in their communities, and donated over 4,000 hours of service for their cause. For the second time, they were the recipient of the grand prize from Lead2Feed. They won $25,000 to donate to their charity, Meal on Wheels of Central Maryland. They also won $20,000 in technology for their school. The Harbour School is the first team to ever win this challenge twice.

A check presentation at The Harbour School included Senator Delores Kelley, Speaker Pro Tem, Adrienne Jones, Delegate Shelley Hettleman and Delegate Pat Young. Representatives from Lead2Feed, USA Charitable Foundation and Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland attended the event and celebrated this accomplishment with the school.

The Harbour School is located at 11251 Dolfield Blvd. Owings Mills, MD 21117.
