High Wind Watch Issued by National Weather Service
Parts of Maryland could see gusts up to 60 mph when high wind watch goes into effect.

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for much of Maryland, from 10 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday.
A high wind watch means that winds greater than 40 mph or gusts stronger than 58 mph are expected, which may lead to power outages.

The areas under the watch include Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore Calvert, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties as well as the District of Columbia and parts of Virginia.
The weather service says to expect northwest winds from 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

The area could see downed trees, downed power lines and minor structural damage.
Driving "high profile" vehicles (trucks, vans, SUVs) in these conditions is dangerous, the weather service warns.
The Maryland Transportation Authority advised drivers to anticipate wind warnings and restrictions on bridges.
Some areas may be under a freeze watch this weekend, as lows are expected to dip below freezing Sunday night.
