Junior Chefs Receive Hands-On Culinary Experience at The Classic Catering People’s Summer Camp
Campers learned how to prepare dishes to share with their families at The Classic Catering People's Cooking Camp Classic in Owings Mills
Junior chefs at The Classic Catering People's annual camp, Cooking Camp Classic, spent their time off from school this summer expanding their culinary craft. Cooking Camp Classic teaches children how to prepare their own delicious and creative meals from scratch. The Classic Catering People's Chef Therese Harding led aspiring chefs ages five to 13 through a hands-on culinary journey spanning several weeks in June and July. Campers finished each class by enjoying a dinner buffet and brought home a complete dinner for four that they created in class.
During each session, campers prepared dishes that corresponded to the sessions’ themes, which included "Sweet and Savory Bakery," "Global Cuisine" and "Classic Master Class." The young chefs widened their palettes and learned how to prepare a variety of recipes, including OLD BAY sliders, Japanese pancakes, Jamaican meat pies, chicken roulade and chocolate éclair crème puffs.
Cooking Camp Classic provides children with an opportunity to have fun while developing valuable kitchen skills under the instruction of professional chefs. The program also encourages campers to channel their individual creativity to invent new dishes. This summer’s sessions concluded on July 27.
