Medifast Leaving Owings Mills Headquarters
The company headquartered in Owings Mills will be moving to Baltimore.

OWINGS MILLS, MD - Medifast, the company that offers plans for those looking to slim down, is expanding. The business announced on Monday that it is moving its headquarters from Owings Mills to Baltimore City.
While manufacturing and some other staff will remain in Owings Mills, the company's headquarters will move into the Legg Mason building in downtown Baltimore.
More than 160 employees will move to the new downtown office in the coming months, with the transition expected to be complete by the end of 2017.

"We look forward to supporting Baltimore City's wellness and development initiatives by embedding ourselves in the heart of downtown while maintaining operations in the county that has supported us and been our home for the past 37 years," Medifast CEO Daniel Chard said in a statement.
The new space will be home to wellness coaches as well as corporate staff.

Medifast Executive Vice President of Human Resources Jeanne City described it in prepared remarks as a "contemporary work space that fostered a collaborative environment."
The office will include several outdoor patios, collaborative work spaces inside and two floors connected by a staircase.
The company is currently headquartered at 11445 Cronhill Drive in Owings Mills.
