Baltimore County government officials advise that swimming is illegal in the three reservoirs - Liberty, Loch Raven and Prettyboy, which is in northwestern Baltimore County and runs from northeastern Carroll County to York, Pennsylvania.
Reservoir swimming can be especially dangerous because water visibility is poor, the land was not designed for it and depths and currents can rapidly shift, officials say.
