Owings Mills Armed Robbery Suspect Has Been Charged

Police said an Owings Mills man has been charged in three armed robberies that happened since Dec. 10.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — Tips from citizens helped lead authorities to the suspect in multiple armed robberies in Owings Mills, police said. Authorities had asked for assistance identifying a man who robbed China Wok and Beauty 2U last week.

Kristopher Allen Delauter, 28, of the 4800 block of Stone Shop Circle in Owings Mills, has been charged with three counts of armed robbery, stemming from cases on Dec. 10, Dec. 12 and Dec. 14, court records show.

The Dec. 10 and Dec. 12 robberies occurred at the beauty shop and Chinese restaurant, respectively, police said. Both were located in the 9700 block of Groffs Mill Drive. The Dec. 14 robbery was of Asian Garden restaurant in the unit block of Franklin Boulevard in Reisterstown, police reported.

Delauter was arrested Dec. 16 and was originally held without bail. According to court records, he was released on his own recognizance on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

Authorities said that after they released information, including a video from the beauty store holdup, and asked for help identifying the suspect, people provided police with tips that led them to Delauter.

"We are grateful for citizens willing to become involved to help us identify and remove dangerous criminals from our community," Baltimore County Police Chief Terrence Sheridan said in a statement. "Citizen input is the key component in public safety."
