Former Ravens running back Ray Rice returned to Baltimore recently with wife Janay in an effort to give hope.

The Rices, former Reisterstown residents, moved out of state after he was cut from the Ravens for domestic assault.

Back in Charm City on on Wednesday, the coupled presented new uniforms to youths in southwest Baltimore.

Janay Rice helped design the new cheerleader uniforms for the cheerleaders of youth football team the Southwest Seminoles, who play in a revitalized park in Baltimore that was once a haven for drug dealing and other crimes, according to The Baltimore Sun.

They also donated gloves to the football players, according to WJZ.

Ray Rice said he hoped ”this little gift...gives them a little hope toward the future,” WJZ reported.

Since getting terminated from the Ravens, the running back has yet to catch on with another team. But he holds out hope for a comeback and says he still considers Baltimore his community.

“...essentially, it’s my family,” Rice told WJZ. “How could I abandon my family?”
