Skateboarder Injured In Police Car Crash: Officials
Authorities say a man is hospitalized after being hit by an officer on the way to a call in the Woodlawn precinct.

WOODLAWN, MD — A 31-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a police officer on patrol in the Woodlawn precinct, according to the Baltimore County Police Department. The officer was not injured, authorities reported.
The crash happened around 3:50 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, according to officials.
The skateboarder was headed north in the southbound lane of Whitehead Road when he was hit, police said. The officer had been en route to a call for service, officials reported.

Police said the victim was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, and the Baltimore County Police Crash Investigation Team is handling the case.
This is the fourth crash involving a Baltimore County police officer in the past two weeks and the second involving a pedestrian.

One crash was fatal on Sunday, Jan. 6, near Pimlico in Baltimore City, involving a suspect running from police. Another crash resulted in the hospitalization of two people on Monday, Jan. 7, in Halethorpe, and the most recent was on Friday when an officer hit a school bus.
