Cutting At Owings Mills High School Was Self-Inflicted: Police

Police said an Owings Mills student who was wounded Tuesday was being uncooperative with investigators.

OWINGS MILLS, MD — A student was injured at Owings Mills High School Tuesday morning in an incident that police later said was believed to be self-inflicted.

The 18-year-old was taken to a local hospital after he was cut with a sharp object.

First responders were initially called to the school in the 100 block of Tollgate Road at 9:19 a.m.

A music teacher had noticed the teen staggering on the second floor, then took him to the nurses station and called 911, police said.

Police said the boy was cut with a sharp object, which has not been recovered.

He was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, according to officials.

While the incident remains under investigation, police said the victim was not cooperating with authorities.

According to officials, classes continued as usual at Owings Mills High School.

This was not the first report of a stabbing at a Baltimore County public school this year; in January, a stabbing occurred at Woodlawn High School.
