Where Should Northwest Elementary School Boundaries Be?
The Baltimore County Board of Education wants to hear from you.

Before the Baltimore County Board of Education votes on boundaries for the new elementary school serving the northwest region of the county, school officials invite the community to weigh in on the proposal.
The new 700-seat elementary school will open in August to relieve overcrowding in the region.

Church Lane, Deer Park, Hernwood, New Town, Owings Mills, Randallstown, Winand and Woodholme elementary schools will be affected by the change, according to Baltimore County Public Schools.
A boundary committee consisting of community members met six times between September and December 2014 to discuss proposals for the boundaries. The group held an informational meeting attended by 120 people and ran an online survey about the boundaries, to which more than 300 people responded, the school system reported.

The Baltimore County Board of Education will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Feb. 10, where people can share their thoughts on the proposed boundary lines. See the boundary proposal—it’s “Option B”—here.
At the boundary hearing, each person who speaks will have three minutes to share. People can bring a written copy of remarks to the school board meeting or email them to board@bcps.org. The sign-in for those who want to speak will open at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
The boundary hearing will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at New Town High School, 4931 New Town Boulevard, Owings Mills.
The board is expected to vote on the proposed boundaries at its meeting on Tuesday, March 3.
