Young Chefs Explore the Culinary Craft at The Classic Catering People's Summer Camp
Campers cook dishes to share with their families at The Classic Catering People's Cooking Camp Classic in Owings Mills
Instead of waiting for their parents to cook them meals this summer, campers at Cooking Camp Classic are learning how to prepare their own delicious multi-course meals with the help of culinary experts. The Classic Catering People’s summer camp teaches children how to prepare their own tasty, fun meals, which they can then share with their families at the conclusion of each session. Chef Therese Harding leads aspiring chefs ages five to 16 through a thematic culinary journey spanning six weeks in June and July. Campers close each class with a dinner buffet and receive a set of recipes, a recipe box and a camp t-shirt for their participation.
Each session, campers prepare dishes that correspond to the sessions’ themes, which are selected by previous campers. Young chefs have already learned how to prepare dishes such as chicken wellington, fresh fruit tarts, pizza pockets, fresh bread and more this summer. Session themes this year include Asian street food, Roman holiday, sweet and savory bakery, picnic in the park and culinary improv.
Cooking Camp Classic provides children an opportunity to have fun while developing valuable kitchen skills with the help of professional chefs. The program also encourages campers to use their individual creativity to explore the culinary craft and create their tasty meals. This summer’s sessions conclude July 21.
