9/11 'Ceremony of Remembrance' Planned Outside Perry Hall Library

The has planned a "Ceremony of Remembrance" in memory of the events of , on Tuesday at the .

The ceremony—which includes brief speeches, the Pledge of Allegiance and local public officials—was held in past years outside the on Cowenton Avenue in White Marsh. This is the first year it will be held outside the Perry Hall Library on Honeygo Boulevard, Public Information Officer James Clements announced.

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 11. Sirens will commemorate planes striking the buildings at 8:45 a.m. and 9:03 a.m. All are welcome to attend.

White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company (WMVFC), in conjunction with the Baltimore County Fire and Police Departments and hosted by the Perry Hall Public Library, announced a brief Ceremony of Remembrance to be held on September 11, 2012. The ceremony will serve to honor the services and sacrifices of the 343 NY City Fire Department, 60 police officers, 15 EMTs of various services, the thousands of military and civilians who lost their lives that day in the terrorist attacks.

The community is invited to join with each other, units of the Baltimore County Fire and Police Departments and local elected officials starting at 8:30 am on the parking lot of the Perry Hall Public Library located at 9685 Honeygo Blvd, Perry Hall, Maryland. Units will briefly sound sirens at 8:45 am (time of the attack on the north tower) and again at 9:03 am (time of the attack on the south tower); each to be followed by moments of silence and remembrance of these and the other terror attacks that day.

The ceremony will end with the Pledge of Allegiance to the American flag.
