Double-Fatal Crash Clears Near White Marsh: Police
Multiple people were taken to shock trauma from crash, which caused lengthy backups on Interstate 95, police report.
UPDATE (7:30 p.m.)—The double-fatal crash on Interstate 95 near White Marsh has cleared, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority. All northbound lanes reopened at 6 p.m., Sgt. Jonathan Green told Patch.
The incident began at 1:40 p.m. when a Maryland Transportation Authority officer tried to conduct a traffic stop near Eastern Avenue, Green said.
The vehicle did not stop and instead gave chase on I-95 north until the area of New Forge Road, where the suspect vehicle crossed the grassy median and crashed head-on into a vehicle that was headed south on I-95, Green said.

There were three people in the suspect vehicle, which was a Honda Accord, Green said. One of them was deceased.
Three people were also in the vehicle that was hit, a Kia Sorrento, according to Green. One person in that vehicle died after being transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, he said.

The highway was shut down in both directions after 3 p.m. as a medevac landed.
Four people were taken to shock trauma—one by medevac and three by ambulance, according to Green.
One person was taken to Franklin Square Hospital, he added.
Identities of the victims are not being released as next of kin notifications are pending.
In addition, Green said it was early in the investigation and it was not yet available what prompted the traffic stop.
PREVIOUS REPORT (5 p.m.)—At 5 p.m., all lanes of I-95 were open; however, I-95 south was closed except for the far right lane.
The Maryland Transportation Authority encouraged people to take alternate routes such as US 1.

UPDATE (3:55 p.m.)—The Maryland Transportation Authority advised drivers just before 4 p.m. there were major delays on I-95 south before the exit for MD 43/White Marsh Boulevard, where a crash occurred Friday afternoon.
One person died in the crash and several others were in critical condition, according to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company.

Transportation officials said the two-vehicle crash on I-95 south was reported at 1:45 p.m.
The collision occurred in the turnaround area along I-95, according to Michael Connelly, vice president of administration for the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company.
First responders from White Marsh, Kingsville and other locations rescued multiple people trapped in vehicles, the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company reported.
A medevac was called to the scene, and multiple people were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, Connelly told Patch.
Five people were injured, and one person was deceased, the fire company reported.
At 4 p.m., the far right lane and shoulder of I-95 south were open, while the left three were closed near the crash site, according to transportation officials.
All lanes of I-95 north were open.
Drivers should take US 1, MD 7 or US 40 as alternate routes.

Friday’s fatal collision comes less than 48 hours after another deadly crash in the area.
On Wednesday night, a three-vehicle crash brought I-95 north of MD 152 to a standstill as a woman was airlifted for treatment; 21-year-old Bryanna Ey died Thursday, police said.
Wednesday’s crash was on I-95 north at mile marker 75.6, police reported.
Friday’s crash occurred at mile marker 69, according to the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company.
PREVIOUS REPORT (3:20 p.m.)—Interstate 95 is nearly completely shut down near a fatal wreck in the area of White Marsh Boulevard/MD 43. Drivers should take US 1, MD 7 or US 40 as alternate routes.
Southbound traffic is snarled on Interstate 95 near White Marsh Boulevard due to a crash.
At approximately 3 p.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority reported that the right lane on I-95 south was open, while the left three lanes remained closed at the crash site, before the exit for MD 43/White Marsh Boulevard.
By 3:30 p.m., only the right lane on I-95 south and the right shoulder on I-95 north were open.

At approximately 2 p.m. on Friday, I-95 south was closed before the exit for MD 43/White Marsh Boulevard as the result of a crash that caused injuries, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.
Officials said that a medevac was requested.
Drivers should take US 1, MD 7 or US 40 as alternate routes.
