Tractor-Trailer Fire Clears, I-95 Reopens, Tolls Reinstated: MDTA

Fees on the Express Toll Lanes are back in effect after hours of cleanup on I-95 north in Baltimore County.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Interstate 95 has reopened at the exit for I-695 in Baltimore County Tuesday morning near the Express Toll Lanes after hours of cleanup from a tractor-trailer fire. At 9 a.m., the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) announced that the Express Toll Lane fees were reinstated now that the highway has reopened.

For hours, I-95 north was closed at exit 64/I-695 for the response to the blaze, which officials said did not injure anyone but did result in a diesel spill.

At 4:51 a.m., Baltimore County fire crews responded to a tractor-trailer completely engulfed in flames. All lanes of I-95 north were shut down, and a large-scale response ensued due to the nature of the vehicle fire.
