Man Set on Fire in White Marsh Dies More Than 1 Year Later: Report

There is a GoFundMe page set up to help cover funeral expenses for the victim in Pulaski Highway altercation.

A man doused in gasoline and set on fire in White Marsh more than a year ago has reportedly died at the hospital. The person responsible for the fire is serving a 25-year jail sentence for the crime and may have his case reopened to reflect the death of the victim.

David Campbell, 22, was pronounced deceased on Saturday morning at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, according to ABC 2 News, which reported he had been there since December 2015.

There is a GoFundMe page set up so people may donate money for Campbell's cremation.

Campbell was injured in a fight among four male coworkers that broke out on US 40/Pulaski Highway west of Allender Road before 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, police said.

Christopher Harrison Jr., 29, of the 900 block of Topview Drive in Edgewood, was sentenced to 20 years for first-degree assault and five years in jail for reckless endangerment in relation to the case.

The sentence was handed down last fall but the case may be reopened and the sentencing affected since Campbell has died.

The Baltimore County state's attorney's office told ABC 2 that authorities are awaiting a report from the medical examiner regarding Campbell's death before proceeding.
