MAP: Perry Hall Burglaries Nov. 30-Feb. 11
A concerned resident plotted the locations of recent burglaries reported by Perry Hall Patch.
Is there a pattern in the locations of recent burglaries in the Perry Hall area?
One concerned resident took it upon himself to find out. Using Google Earth and Patch articles between Nov. 30 and Feb. 11, he created a map of recent crime, focusing mainly on burglaries.
While he requested to not be identified, he gave Patch permission to publish screenshots of his map and a portion of his email.

He submitted the following statement to Patch:
I have recently become very aware and alarmed at the crime and burglaries that have been plaguing our area. I live in the Honeygo Village Center down the street from a recent break-in. I work at home so I have made a habit of checking out the windows quite frequently to make sure all is copacetic. The other day I decided it might be interesting to plot out all the recent break-ins on Google Earth to see if there was any kind of pattern. I've attached a couple screen captures of my plotting. I left out any domestic disputes or property damage (like graffiti). The results are quite stunning, especially for only being from the last two months or so. The one thing I do see that these break-ins have in common is that the thieves seem to be targeting almost exclusively single family houses (with the exception of the one break-in on my street and one other on Southfield a couple weeks ago).

I sincerely hope this epidemic stops very soon. Hopefully with the help of your work on the Patch, the citizens will continue being vigilant and aware for their neighbors and property.
