Official: 'Perry Hall' Will Not Be Painted on Water Tower

A little-known proposal in the Perry Hall Community Plan, passed by the County Council in 2011, suggests that "Perry Hall" be painted on the water tower on Ebenezer Road. 

But while the 1 million-gallon water tank is slated for this winter and fall, the community's name or any kind of logo is not part of the project. 

"We've received that request from several communities, but we do not allow it because it begs for more maintenance," said Mike Mazurek, chief of water design in Baltimore County. 

"If the logo got dirty, there would be requests for repainting more frequently than needed," Mazurek said. 

County Councilman David Marks—who supported the initial request in the community plan—said he's understanding of the county's policy against painting names. 

Still, he said he hopes it will be possibility in the future. 

"We haven't done anything to pursue that yet, but in the future, I think it would be good for the community to have 'Perry Hall' written on the tower—a place that's visible from far away," Marks said.
