Perry Hall High School Fight: 5 Charged, Police Say
Police said that a total of five people have been charged in connection with the fight at Perry Hall High School.

PERRY HALL, MD — Five people have been charged in the Jan. 18 fight that broke out in the Perry Hall High School parking lot. The day after the incident, police reported that one person had been arrested.
Two weeks later, the Baltimore County Police Department issued a statement saying that four additional suspects related to the fight had been identified.
The following have been charged, police reported on Thursday, Feb. 1:

- K-Jahnie Peets, 22, of the 8700 block of Blairwood Road, has been charged with second-degree assault and disrupting school activities.
- K-Lan Peets, 18, of the 8700 block of Blairwood Road, has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault and disrupting school activities.
- Two juveniles were charged with assault
Since the Peets were charged on criminal summonses, police said booking photos of them were not available.
The charges stem from a fight outside the high school in the 4600 block of Ebenezer Road that broke out before noon on Thursday, Jan. 18. Police received multiple 911 calls reporting the fight in the school parking lot, including reports that a gun was involved.

"Throughout the extensive investigation that followed, police and school staff were able to determine that a physical fight had, in fact, taken place and that a male subject had retrieved what appeared to be a long gun from a vehicle parked near the scene of the incident," the Baltimore County Police Department said in a statement. "That male had then walked towards the scene of the fight that was taking place while holding the weapon."
Darren Keith Bennett Jr., 18, of the 3900 block of Menswood Lane in Nottingham, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 19, in connection with the case. He was charged with possessing a weapon on school property, disturbing school operations and disturbing the peace. Police said an Airsoft gun was recovered when he was taken into custody.
