Perry Hall High School Seniors Pass AP Tests at Above-Average Rates
Baltimore County released passage rates of Advanced Placement tests Wednesday morning.

How do Perry Hall High School seniors stack up against the rest of Baltimore County? When it comes to Advanced Placement testing, they rank just above average—about 68 percent of seniors scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP exam.
The College Board released the county's AP results from the 2009-2010 school year Wednesday morning. While the results showed an increase in the overall number of students taking AP exams, the passage rate decreased slightly from the previous year, from 68 percent to 66 percent.
In Baltimore County, AP exam results, which translate into college credit, were mostly sent to the following schools: University of Maryland, College Park; Towson University; University of Maryland, Baltimore County; Community College of Baltimore County and Stevenson University.

“The results lend further support to initiatives underway in the school system to increase academic rigor for all students and to continually expand learning opportunities for students,” Superintendent Joe A. Hairston said in a statement.
“We have been working over the course of the past several years to ensure more consistent preparation for advanced coursework across the school system,” Hairston said.
