Perry Hall High Student Named National Merit Semifinalist
Cody A. Lieu was one of 22 students from seven Baltimore County schools honored.

School student Cody A. Lieu has been named a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship program, Baltimore County Public Schools officials announced Wednesday.
Twenty-one other sophomores and juniors at six additional also qualified as semifinalists by receiving high scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
They may now compete in a pool of more than 16,000 semifinalists for scholarships. College Board and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation plan to award 8,300 scholarships worth more than $34 million, according to a county press release.

“These young men and women represent the depth of intellect and dedication to learning that is pervasive throughout Baltimore County Public Schools,” said Superintendent Joe A. Hairston in the release.
