Inclement Weather/Make-Up Days
Five inclement weather days are included in the calendar. Presidents Day and Easter Monday are listed as holidays but could be re-designated as school days. Three additional days are tacked on at the end of the school year. If there are no emergency closures, school will end June 16.
Should emergency closures occur, the make-up days will be as follows
Emergency closure #1 (if emergency closure occurs before Feb. 17, 2020): Make-up day will be the Presidents Day holiday (pending Maryland State Board of Education approval).
Emergency closure #2 (if two emergency closures occur before April 13, 2020): Make-up day will be Easter Monday holiday (pending Maryland State Board of Education approval).
Emergency closure #3: Make-up day will be June 17, 2020.
Emergency closure #4: Make-up day will be June 18, 2020.
Emergency closure #5: Make-up day will be June 19, 2020.
If more than five emergency closures occur and/or there are a significant number of delayed openings and/or early dismissals used, the school calendar may be adjusted to meet the state-mandated minimum required student days and the required number of student hours. That could include re-designating holidays or professional development days as school days, adjusting spring break, cancelling early dismissals and extending the school year.
