2 Perry Hall Seniors Graduating with Diplomas Plus Associate's Degrees

Two Perry Hall High School students are among 18 rising graduates in Baltimore County Public Schools who will graduate with two diplomas this spring.

The students, the BCPS schools they currently attend, and the colleges they are headed to are as follows:

• Samantha Beverati of Perry Hall High School; Towson University
• Anya Byrd of Western School of Technology; University of Maryland, Baltimore County (as a Meyerhoff Scholar)
• Kaylyn Clark of Catonsville High School; University of Maryland, Baltimore County (as a Meyerhoff Scholar)
• Harrison Collins of Eastern Technical High School; Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
• Kate Delossantos of Eastern Technical High School; University of Maryland, College Park
• Lindsay Edwards of Dulaney High School; University of Maryland, College Park
• Kelli Goetz of Dulaney High School; University of Maryland, College Park
• Meera Kesavan of Catonsville High School; Johns Hopkins University
• Christina Krastel of Perry Hall High School; University of Maryland, College Park (after taking additional physics and pre-engineering courses at CCBC)
• Hannah Matecko-Conti of Catonsville High School; St. Olaf College
• Kathy Nguyen of Randallstown High School; George Washington University
• Joseph Pezzulla of Dulaney High School; University of Maryland, College Park

"These students are trailblazers,” Baltimore County Public Schools Superintendent S. Dallas Dance said in prepared remarks. "We are proud of what they have achieved academically but also of what they have shown us about the determination and commitment of our students. They are the first to benefit from Diploma to Degree, but not the first of our students to benefit from our strong and ever-growing partnership with CCBC.”

President Sandra Kurtinitis of CCBC said the students were “fine examples of what is possible when you combine academic talent and willpower with strong support from two committed institutions.”

All of the students are graduating from CCBC with honors, according to a statement from Baltimore County Public Schools. The cohort has an average grade point average of 3.65 in Baltimore County Public Schools and four achieved 4.0 grade point averages at the college, the statement said.
