PHHS Hoping for 'Likes' in $5,000 Facebook Contest

It takes less than two minutes and it could win $5,000. 

is sponsoring a $5,000 prize for the school whose photo receives the most "likes" on its Facebook page before Sunday. Out of seven finalists, Perry Hall is currently leading with more than 150 "likes." 

To vote, you must first "like" the Weis Markets Facebook page. Then click on "Photos," then click on "Post Your Spirit Finals!" and "like" the long horizontal photo of the Perry Hall girls junior varsity basketball team.

"When I entered the picture a couple of weeks ago I never thought it would get to this point," said Mariel Mora-Elam, whose daughter plays on the basketball team. "I was just a proud mom but now that I know we may actually have a chance, I feel like I have to win this for them."

Mora-Elam won a $200 Weis gift card as the original poster of the photo during the second week of the contest, but this current stage of the contest focuses on benefiting the school. 

"It just seems like with a simple click, the school can get something they never expected and that would be totally awesome!" she said.
