Police: 'Exhaustive Searches' Underway for Missing Perry Hall Middle Student

Jasmine Leighlin Baker, 12, was last seen walking to school on Tuesday, Baltimore County police said.

Authorities have used bloodhounds, surveillance footage and social media in attempt to find Jasmine Leighlin Baker, the 12-year-old who disappeared on her way to Perry Hall Middle School earlier this week, police said.

Baker was last seen at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, when she left her home in the 4200 block of Soth Avenue in Nottingham to walk to Perry Hall Middle School at 4300 Ebenezer Road, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

When she didn’t come home that afternoon, her mother called the school and found out that the girl had been absent, police said.

Since Tuesday, officials have conducted “exhaustive searches” around the following locations: Baker’s Nottingham home, Perry Hall Middle School, her father’s residence in Baltimore City and all of the sites mentioned by tipsters—police have followed-up on more than 50 tips as of Thursday morning—according to the report.

In addition, police reviewed surveillance footage from area businesses and checked hotels around White Marsh, the report said.

She has not been active on social media since she went missing, police reported.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is helping to analyze Baker’s activity on social media and has partnered with the FBI to generate publicity around her disappearance, according to police.

This is the first time Baker has been reported missing, according to police, who said she left without taking a phone, charger or extra clothing.

Jasmine Leighlin Baker is described as 5’5” tall, and 175 pounds. She has blue eyes and long brown hair with streaks of blond and red, according to police. She was wearing blue jeans and a brown jacket when she was last seen, police said.
