St. Stephen School Breaks Ground on New Preschool
The Kingsville school is expanding its child care offerings.
Currently, the school serves students in prekindergarten through eighth grade, who left their imprint on the new building; each student put his/her name on a rock that went into the building’s foundation, according to a statement from St. Stephen School.
St. Stephen preschool students sang a song and helped with the ceremonial dig with a shovel.
Senator J.B. Jennings presented the school with a citation, and a small reception followed in the school’s hall.

The new building on the school's 38-acre campus will contain three rooms—a classroom for three-year-olds, a classroom for four-year-olds and a shared resource room.
These will allow St. Stephen School to offer an expanded preschool schedule:

- A Pre-K3 program from 8 to 11 a.m. with a choice of Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule
- A Pre-K4 program five days a week from 8 to 11 a.m. or noon to 3 p.m.
- Extended care for both Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 until 3 p.m. for an additional fee.
The new preschool building will be completed in time for the 2014–15 school year, according to a statement from St. Stephen School.
