Statue Of Kevin Kamenetz Planned Near White Marsh
A new park is reportedly in the works near White Marsh that will memorialize County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A statue of the late Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz will reportedly be installed at a park in the new Greenleigh at Crossroads development. Designed to be a community where people can live, work and shop in one place, the project is located off MD 43 near White Marsh and Middle River.
Leaders recalled how Kamenetz played a key role in the project coming to fruition, during a recent event at the site.
The event marked a milestone in development, now halfway complete, and was also a "celebration of Kevin's vision into reality," Edward St. John, chairman of St. John Properties, told the Baltimore Business Journal. The newspaper reported that the widow of Kamenetz was among those in attendance.

Kamenetz, who envisioned Greenleigh as a destination that would be similar to Maple Lawn in Howard County, would be memorialized with a public park at the center of Greenleigh at Crossroads featuring a statue of him, St. John told the newspaper.
Kamenetz died on May 10 from a cardiac arrest at the age of 60 years old.

About two years before his death, he attended a groundbreaking for Greenleigh at Crossroads in May 2016 and had this to say: "There is no other project like this in the county," Patch reported at the time. He called Greenleigh "placemaking at its best."
Earlier this year, Kamenetz advocated for a loan for Stanley Black & Decker to grow beyond Towson to Greenleigh, where the company planned to build a 92,000-square-foot facility.
The business journal reports that Stanley Black & Decker employees have already begun setting up shop at the campus, where SpringHill Suites opened in the spring.
When complete, developers have said that the 1,000-acre site will also include 1,000 single-family homes; 500 multi-family residences; three commercial office buildings; single-story office space; and retail.
