The Tilted Kilt Closes On The Avenue At White Marsh
The popular restaurant and bar that was packed on St. Patrick's Day was shuttered afterward.

NOTTINGHAM, MD — The Tilted Kilt is no longer on The Avenue at White Marsh. After working 12-plus-hour shifts on St. Patrick's Day, some employees said they showed up for work on Sunday and found the restaurant had closed for good.
"We are very sorry for all those who woke up today to find out they no longer had a job," the owners of The Tilted Kilt posted on Facebook. "While we greatly respect all of the hard working employees who have given us their dedicated services, some for years, others just a short time, our hands were tied and all avenues were exhausted to keep the doors open."
Critics on Facebook took issue with a sign posted on the door to let workers know of the closing. It said: "ALL EMPLOYEES: Tilted Kilt has closed permanently. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Your final paycheck will be mailed to you, or direct deposited. With a heavy heart, I wish you all the best."

People from several area businesses replied to the post announcing the restaurant's closure on Facebook with employment opportunities for the jobless Tilted Kilt workers.
The only remaining Tilted Kilt location around is in Frederick.

The Avenue at White Marsh was too pricey for the restaurant to "make ends meet," according to the owner.
"Unfortunately our American dream has derailed, and been a struggle to make ends meet," the owner said on Facebook. "I will do all I can to help any of my employees find work and I see some have already reached out with offers...Thank you for that. Good Luck to all, and best of Luck to the next guy."
Bar Louie, an eatery that features handcrafted cocktails, will open in fall 2018 at The Avenue.
