Two Perry Hall Roads to Be Resurfaced

Baltimore County Councilman David Marks announced Friday that Klausmier and Chapel Roads, which he called “important connections in Perry Hall,” will be resurfaced in early August.

The resurfacing will occur on weekdays and take approximately two to three weeks, Marks said.

Original plans originally called for patching Klausmier Road, but now the entire route will receive substantial upgrades, Marks said. He said that crews went out to inspect the road and realized that minor patching wouldn’t do the trick.

“Despite a 90 percent reduction in road resurfacing funding from the state, Baltimore County has still found the resources to fund important road projects in communities like Perry Hall,” Marks said.

Since 2010, he said that Baltimore County has resurfaced Bangert Avenue as well as Forge, Hines and East Joppa roads.

Marks noted that Klausmier is the road about which he hears the most complaints.

“While I recognize that for every road that gets paved, someone can think of another one that also needs attention, I thank the County Executive and Councilman for making significant progress with infrastructure improvements over the last few years,” Perry Hall Improvement Association President Dennis Robinson said. He noted that Klausmier Road connects downtown Perry Hall with the Seven Courts community and represents “an important artery that has been in need of repairs.”
