White Marsh to Recognize National Night Out
The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company invites the community to a cookout Tuesday to get to know first responders.

The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company is hosting a community cookout on Tuesday, which is National Night Out.
The annual observance of National Night Out brings communities and public safety officials together with the common goal of keeping communities protected.
More than 16,000 communities nationwide are participating in National Night Out, according to the National Association of Town Watch, which promotes gatherings across the country to get citizens and public safety officials interacting under positive circumstances.

In White Marsh, first responders will be on hand at the fire station on Ebenezer Road, where public safety demonstrations and brochures will be available.
Here are some of the activities on tap Tuesday in White Marsh, according to Jennifer Corridon of the White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company:

- Hands-only CPR
- Engine tour and hose activity for kids
- Fire gear inspection
“We are also hoping to raise awareness for recruitment possibilities for our cadet program as well as EMS and fire crew,” Corridon added.
The White Marsh Volunteer Fire Company is hosting a community cookout from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, for National Night Out. The event will be at the fire station located at 5419 Ebenezer Road.
